Technology Climate Survey 2005
The Department Tech Mentors' Action Plan listed the following goals:
Increase faculty proficiency and integration of technology
Improve attitudes toward technology
Provide on-going technology training
The results of the survey will help us assess attitudes and plan training to achieve our goals.

1. I feel competent using the basic operations of the laptop and NDP network: logging in and out, changing my password, changing settings and desktop, managing files, folders, printers and scanners, and troubleshooting, using shares and servers including the grading program.

2. I feel competent using the basic features of word processing: toolbars and views, text formatting, spacing, margins, headers/footers, save & print, copy/paste, delete/undo/redo, spelling and grammar, thesaurus, find/replace.
3. I feel competent using the advanced features of word processing: columns, page breaks, tables, bullets & numbering, outlining and highlighting, insert symbols and images, format picture, hyperlink, draw features, borders and shading, comments and sound.
4. I feel competent communicating using email to send, reply, and forward messages with attachments, use the address book and add contacts, create distribution lists and signatures, consult the Internal Use Calendar, access my email remotely, manage email (delete, make folders), change views, fields and use the calendar to make appointments.
5. I feel competent using the Internet to locate, evaluate and use information ethically and to book mark and organize my favorites.
6. I feel competent using PowerPoint to create an effective presentation and using advanced features such as transitions, animation and multimedia (images and sound).
7. I feel competent using Excel to create and print a spreadsheet using common functions, sort and filter, graphs and charts.
8. I feel competent using Multimedia programs such as Paint, Media Player, Picture Manager and Movie Maker.
9. I feel competent using Access for database management to create tables and forms for queries and reports.
10. I feel competent using FrontPage to create my teacher web site.
11. I feel competent using my content-specific tools: Graphing Calculator, Geometer's Sketchpad, Probes, Publications, Language, Sibelius, Art.
12. I feel competent planning and designing learning environments and experiences for my students connecting appropriate technology resources, curriculum content and assessments. (check all that apply)
