Welcome to Social Studies 7!

Wow! It is so wonderful to have you as a member of my class! On this page, you will find important information about our class. First, is a letter that I am sending home during the first week of school. Included in this letter is some information for students and parents about our class. Also, homework will be updated daily and posted on this page. On occasion, I may not be able to update the homework assignment here, so be sure to copy it down during class. March 1	All Classes: Complete BCD work for second BCD which is next Thursday or Friday, depending on your class Legend and History of Ghana packet Sundiata Story worksheet Mini-Project on Natural Wonder - here is the handout Due Wednesday 3/3: Chapter 13 Section 1 packet (read ch 13 sect 1 in JAT in order to answer the questions) Quest on Chapter 13 Section 1 on Friday for 7.02. Section 7.01, we will have our quest on Thursday the 4th or Friday the 5th, we will talk about it in class. We will also discuss the possibility of using a foldable on this quest.
March 2	All Classes: BCD work- due Friday during class Chapter 13 Section 1 packet- due Wednesday Quest will be on Friday for all classes. Study guide has been distributed. Consider making a foldable for your quest- will definitely come in handy!
March 3-4	All Classes: BCD work- due Friday during class Quest on Section 13-1 Study guide has been handed out. Review PowerPoints will be posted here as of 3pm on March 4th. March 8	All Classes: Get quest signed by Friday Read Chapter 13 Section 2 in JAT. Complete packet for 3rd BCD (next week) Brainstorm ideas for group presentation of notes
March 9-11	All Classes: Get quest signed by Friday Read Chapter 13 Section 2 and Chapter 13 Section 3 n JAT. Complete packets for both sections for 3rd BCD. Your third BCD will be Friday, March 19th. Brainstorm ideas for group presentation of notes
March 12	All Classes: Presentations will take place next Monday and Tuesday. Be sure your presentation is saved on the ML Common and that your group is ready to go when called. Start saving art supplies (like beads, milk jugs, etc.) for your African mask project
March 15	All Classes: Presentations today and tomorrow Homework: Have required work completed for BCD, which is Friday, March 19th!
March 16th	All Classes: 1) BCD work; 2) Study guide for quest- due by 4:00pm on Wednesday. You may email it as well.
March 17th	No SS classes today due to Leadership workshop. Don't forget about your BCD and turning in your quest study guide- due by 4:00pm today!
March 18-19th	1) All binders must be turned in for BCD by 3pm on Friday, March 19th 2) Study for quest on Chapter 13 Sections 2 & 3 on Monday 3) Choose legend and character for African Mask project. You will need to tell me your choices on class on Monday
March 22-24th	All Sections: Please see the schedule that I distributed in class. Here is another copy. Be sure you are looking at the correct page for your section! Look at the label in the upper left hand corner of the handout.
March 25-26	1) Get quest signed. 2) Next week we will be starting an independent study. Please have a binder ready to use for this. I will not be collecting the binder.
March 29	Fourth Quarter Independent Study starts today! I will not be updating the homework website. Please consult your calendar to know what is due. The calendar is posted below and also on Moodle. April Calendar Section 7.01 Section 7.02 May Calendar Section 7.01 Section 7.02
Week of May 24th	We will have presentations and exam review. Your final exam study guide was distributed in class, but is also on Moodle. I have also posted review PowerPoints for you to help you study. Please access them on Moodle. Email me with any questions or problems. Remember, your exam is first on June 2nd! Don't forget to study!
